An annual Revolutionary War Living History Day event, along with tours of several historic homes in and around Hillsborough help recall the significance of this town as a one-time capital of the .North Carolina backcountry. Nearby Battle of Alamance Historic Site also interprets the War of the Regulation which centered on events in HIllsborough before the Revolution.
