"Other Lives of Daniel Boone-a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter" (Mooresville, NC)

Mary Slocumb Chapter, DAR
Mooresville Public Library
Mooreville, NC

“Other Lives of Daniel Boone—a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter” reveals some surprising stories of three women in Daniel Boone’s life across three generations. Through a host of images, we look also at the ways America has embraced, celebrated, and commemorated America’s pioneer hero through the years This focus is especially appropriate during 2020 as we celebrate the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment securing women’s suffrage and also because Daniel Boone passed away 200 years ago this fall a few weeks shy of his 86th birthday.

This presentation is open to the public as it is funded by a grant from the NC Humanities Council.
